RATES
Square Inch Price
I charge 3.5 cents per square inch for all designs.
Example: A quilt top that is
60 inches x 80 inches will cost $168.00.
60 x 80 = 4800 sq. inches
x .035 = $168.00 (plus tax)
My minimum quilting charge is $50.00 This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.
Batting
I stock a variety of battings including Heirloom Hobbs 80/20 cotton/poly blend and 50/50 Bamboo/cotton blend, both in natural colour. I have limited quantities of wool batting and Heirloom Hobbs 80/20 cotton/poly blend in black (King Size batts) in stock. Please ask for availability.
Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.
I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls (96 inches wide) of batting except in the case of special orders. I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side plus a 5-inch margin).
Example: if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I would cut 65" of the batting of your choice.
65" of 100% cotton deluxe loft @ $0.40/in = $26.00
65" of 80/20 cotton/poly blend @ $0.33/in = $21.45
65" of 100% poly @ $0.26/in = $16.90
Thread
I use Glide (40 wt) thread. I do not charge for thread used. It is included in the per square inch cost. I like to choose a neutral colour that blends well with the lighter areas of your quilt. However, if you have a specific thread colour idea, please let me know. I am happy to fulfill your wishes!
Embroidered Labels
Custom embroidered labels, up to 5 inch X 5 inch, are available. Cost is $25 for up to 5 lines of text in one or two colours of thread. Format is text only.
drop off/pick up locations
I am located in the westboro area of ottawa. i am able to accept quilts at my residence or arrangements can be made to pick up and drop off your quilt (S) at a mutually convenient location.
Other Costs
As mentioned above, batting is not included in the square inch price.
Please note HST will be applied to the final price.
